History
Established in 2004, Sta. Clara Power Corporation (SCPC) is a subsidiary of Sta. Clara Group, Inc. and an affiliate of Sta. Clara International Corporation. Its entry into hydropower began with the acquisition of the 1.2 MW Loboc 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant from the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) in 2005.
SCPC has since expanded its portfolio through the acquisition and development of run-of-river hydroelectric projects under hydropower service contracts with the Department of Energy. The company’s projects are strategically located across the Philippines and are designed to supply dependable electricity, particularly in areas with limited access to the national grid.
The company’s hydropower facilities utilize the natural flow of rivers and streams, minimizing environmental impact while achieving high operational efficiency. With capacity factors reaching up to 90 percent, SCPC’s projects provide near-continuous power generation in support of local communities and regional energy requirements.
In addition to hydropower, SCPC is involved in the development of solar and wind energy projects. Its broader renewable energy portfolio includes utility-scale solar facilities such as the San Carlos Solar Energy Project in Negros Occidental and the Tarlac Solar Power Project in Tarlac Province.
